If you have a few questions about my process when filming & editing your wedding film - please check out the frequently asked questions below! If there’s a question here I didn’t answer, please feel free to pop me an email at daragh@dtweddingfilms.com

Since I was a child, I loved watching my parent’s wedding video from the mid-80’s. While so much of what we consume is quickly forgotten, your wedding film will outlive all of us.
Your wedding film is a time capsule of one the greatest days of your life, and will be watched by you and your family in the decades to come. This is why I would always advise couples to invest in a wedding film (if it’s within your budget!).

The best way I can describe how I work, is I aim to "blend in with your wedding". What I mean by this, is I am not an awkward character, standing in the corner, filming your family and friends while not saying a word - nor am I the centre of attention, burning the ear off your guests. I'm someone who you feel should be there, and is a part of your special day.
If you want a low key day, with no cameras in your face - no problem! If you want to do 10 dances you saw on Tik-Tok - no problem at all! My job is to capture YOUR personalities, and your wedding.
There are many excellent wedding videographers working today, at a wide range of prices. I pride my work on my visual style, and how I can tell the story of your wedding day. I treat your wedding film like a short film, and put the same amount of passion into every single one.
I absolutely love my job, and every day I'm excited that I get to do what I'm good at for a living. I'm enthusiastic and love a bit of craic, as I'm sure you'll find out on our pre-wedding call!

This is a great question.
To answer simply, a content creator will typically film your wedding with a phone and will deliver short form, vertical content within a very short time frame.
A videographer will use high-end video cameras and audio equipment to capture your day.
I have recently created an add-on on my Packages page, where I can create 2 short form (30 second - 1 minute) vertical videos delivered within 5-7 days, to any music of your choice, along with your wedding film.
If you have any specific questions, please reach out to me via daragh@dtweddingfilms.com

You can find my current rates on my packages page
Filming a wedding takes a great deal of confidence, experience and high-end equipment, and editing can take weeks to complete. I may also need to hire a second videographer, depending on the package you choose.
I try to keep my rates competitive, while also justifying the amount of work and overheads that go into this business. Please email me at daragh@dtweddingfilms.com if you have any further questions.

Everyone is different, and has a different taste. I tend to create a cinematic short film for my couples, between 20-30 minutes in length.
However, some couples would like their full ceremony, receiving line and speeches included, which could make their film 2 hours in length.
Please check out my Packages page, which include my add ons, so that we can make a bespoke wedding film for you!
-
Firstly if I have the date of your wedding free, I will require an upfront deposit and a signed contract.
Once the contract has been signed, I will contact you within 2-4 weeks before your wedding day to discuss the plan for the day (and also to properly introduce myself!). I recommend that you have a call with your photographer before our call, so that we’re all on the same page on the day.
Once times and locations are locked in, I’ll see you the morning of your wedding day!

I film from approximately 2 hours before the ceremony, until the first 2-3 dances that night. If the night runs late and the first dance doesn’t start until after 10.30pm during busy seasons (summer and Christmas times) there will be an additional fee to be paid afterwards. Please email me at daragh@dtweddingfilms.com to learn more.

My mantra as a wedding videographer is that I aim to blend in with your wedding.
While I will be there for the day, I aim to be as unobtrusive as possible, and give absolute minimal direction. The only time I might suggest a pose or 2, is during the couple photoshoot. The best moments on video happen when you are relaxed and enjoying your day.
-
Yes. I will film the entirety of your ceremony & speeches, and then edit the wedding film as per the package you have chosen.
For example, for couples who chose "highlights only" I will choose the best and most important moments from your ceremony and speeches and include them in your wedding film.
Please check out my Packages page for more information on what I can include in your wedding film.

Yes, but weather & safety dependent. Unfortunately, our beautiful country’s weather is very unpredictable, so I will only know on the day whether I can fly my drone or not.
I also will avoid flying over crowds of people & densely populated areas in the interest of safety.
-
This depends on how far I need to travel. For weddings in Cork and neighbouring counties - no. If your wedding is further away, I will charge appropriate travel costs; diesel and accommodation if necessary. This will all be discussed with you before you sign a contract.
-
If you would like both yourself and your sigfinicant other's morning prep filmed, and you are getting ready more that 15 minutes apart I would recommend purchasing the "second videographer" add-on from my Packages page.
I also would recommend this add-on if you have more than 300 guests, so that we can capture as much craic as possible in your reception.

The simple answer is no. I shoot my footage as “S-LOG” which is a very “flat” profile which gives me a lot of space to colour grade in the edit. Before it is processed, it will nearly look “black and white” and be a very large file size. I will curate the best moments of your wedding day, to be included in your highlight video. However, if there’s a moment that does not appear in your highlights video, I can always review the footage I shot to see if I missed it.
-
I will store the raw footage of your wedding for 12-18 months afterwards, but I cannot guarantee I will keep the raw footage after this amount of time. High resolution video takes up a very large amount of storage space (the typical footage from my wedding shoots can range between 300-600GB) which I also back up.
-
Yes. I will always have back-up equipment with me. It’s extremely rare that my equipment will malfunction, but if it does, I will always have spare gear at hand.
-
The most important audio from the day will come from your ceremony & speeches. For your ceremony, I will mic up the groom with a lapel mic to be put into his inside jacket pocket. I will mic up the priest/celebrant, I will place a microphone near where prayers/speeches are said, as well as have a backup recorder recording throughout the ceremony.
For your speeches, I will attach my own microphone to the microphone you will be speaking into anyway, as well as have backup recorders scattered throughout the room.
-
Yes, I have public liability and indemnity insurance.
-
I allow up to 12 weeks for your wedding film to be edited and delivered. Due to the nature of my work, there is always a backlog to be worked through. However, at quieter times of the year, this time-frame may be shorter. If I require more time to edit your video(s), I will keep you updated via email.
